Property Information
Since 2007, the Yampa Valley Housing Authority has owned and managed the Hillside Village Apartments complex on Tamarac Drive. The complex, which includes 35 two bedroom and 20 one bedroom apartments, targets low-income residents (30% and below to 80% AMI).
Since USDA-Rural Development finances the project, YVHA is required to verify that each household has sufficient income to pay the basic rent. Subsidies are applied to households that qualify based on income, and are applied as they become available to the lowest income households first. There are currently 36 units with a rental subsidy.
Hillside Village is on the bus route and has:
- A playground with BBQ area
- Basketball courts
- 2 laundry facilities
- A community deck with grill
- A community garden
- Community events
Application Process
YVHA requires that every potential resident fill out a COMPLETE application; applications without a valid social security or ITIN number can not be processed. All adult members must also pass credit and background checks.

There is consistently a waitlist for these units, and it may be several months or up to a year before an apartment becomes available. When an apartment does become available, YVHA notifies the next accepted applicant on the waitlist.
