Press Release: YVHA Board Approves Elliot Lawrence as Acting Executive Director

STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, CO – April 9, 2026 —
On April 9th, the Yampa Valley Housing Authority Board of Directors voted to appoint Elliot Lawrence as Acting Executive Director. His function in this role will continue while a nationwide search for a permanent replacement for departing Executive Director, Jason Peasley, takes place.
Lawrence has served as Deputy Director of YVHA since 2023, leading teams focused on operations, development, construction oversight, grant writing and project management. “I have full faith in our YVHA team to continue advocating for safe, affordable housing in Routt County amidst this transition,” says Lawrence. “We are focused on the success of ongoing YVHA projects and celebrating forward momentum at the Cottonwoods property and elsewhere. I am here to support the team and ensure that this transitional period is smooth.”
At the same meeting, the YVHA Board identified an official Executive Director search committee, to be comprised of current YVHA Board Member Michael Ann Marchand, Routt County Commissioner Angelica Salinas, and Steamboat Springs City Council Member Steve Muntean. This committee will continue to work towards identification of a professional search firm moving forward.
