Interested Client Database:
The first step in buying your affordable home is to complete an application forms. You can download the forms and mail, email or fax it to YVHA. This will put you into the YVHA Client Database for future mailings about affordable units from YVHA, the City of Steamboat Springs, and Developers.
 
Homebuyer Qualification:
When you are ready to buy, contact our office for the pre-qualification packet. To learn what documentation you will need, click here. For further information, call us at 1.970.870.0164.

Homebuyer Education:
Many affordable housing programs require clients to attend a 4-8 hour training course on home ownership. You can take the course online from Colorado Housing and Finance Authority

1 on 1 Counseling:
YVHA can offer clients one on one counseling to assist with housing problems. Due to limited staff and time constraints, YVHA must charge for this service.

Down Payment Assistance:
YVHA can direct prospective clients to sources of down payment assistance. Due to changes in the financial markets, most lenders now require a cash down payment from buyers also.

Deed Restriction Monitoring:
When you are ready to sell your affordable deed restricted home, YVHA provides guidance in the process of finding a new owner, as well as pre-qualifying them to meet the restrictions of your home.

YVHA can direct prospective clients to area lenders and mortgage companies familiar with financing affordable and deed-restrictive homes.
